Reaching Our City's Mission is to assist in developing a community of people who are spiritually, emotionally, and physically equipped to use their God-given talents to bring about permanent and positive growth of their families and neighborhood.

Nine years ago, Reaching Our City was born out of a collaboration of churches, schools, and concerned Christians to serve the poor of the Greenvale neighborhood of Oklahoma City.

The challenges were staggering; the neighborhood lacked doctors’ offices and grocery stores, welfare-to-work parents desperately needed childcare, and daily desperation prevented any hope for a better future.

Reaching Our City’s strategy has been twofold; to provide programs that relieve the immediate needs of the working poor of the neighborhood, and to provide opportunities for Christians to fulfill the gospel call to show Christian compassion to the weak and marginalized.  Reaching Our City now offers day care and after school programs, food pantry, free medical clinic, a resale shop, legal aid, and other compassionate services within our community.  Check out ROC's website here .

Reaching Our City and The ROC Church are ministry partners.  Within our building thousands of people now find the help they need to build a better future-and they are helped to see that future by Christian staff and volunteers who know the God of new beginnings.  The Reaching Our City’s hand-in-hand partnership with The ROC Church creates a natural bridge linking relief from physical need to relief from spiritual needs.  Countless other congregations share this vision and count Reaching Our City as a mission of their own.
